DESCRIPTION
A Culinary Assistant is responsible for daily preparation of marijuana food items, cooking food products, product development, packaging, waste disposal and sanitation of the kitchen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Weighs and mixes ingredients according to recipes for various infused products. Basic math skills required.
• Record production and test data on the computer for inventory. Also update procedures such as processing steps, temperature, cooking time, batches processed and test results.
• Restocks all items as needed throughout shift. Prepares a supply list of items needed for purchasing weekly.
• Packaging completed products for shipment to dispensaries.
• Ensure all client orders and filled and shipped on time.
• Clean, wash and sterilize equipment and cooking area, using water hoses, cleaning or sterilizing solutions, or rinses according to sink sign instructions. Assists with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization weekly of kitchen floors, coolers and all storage areas.
• Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to industry and company specifications.
• Inspect and remove defective products and packaging materials.
REQUIRED SKILLS
Use calculator and basic math skills.
Ability to understand weights and measurements.
Basic computer skills
Able to work well with others in a cooperative manner and good communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Speak, Read, Write & understand English, record numbers and understand basic cooking directions.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 year of commercial kitchen experience preferred.
Culinary school classes preferred or three to five years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Conducting tests and inspections of products, services or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Flexibility with scheduling.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
May sit, stand, stoop, squat, bend, push, pull, lift and walk intermittently during the day. May sit or stand up to 7 hours per day. Constant fingering and some repetitive motion activities. Will need to transport up to 35 pounds regularly. Visual acuity to see and read fine prints. Must be able to hear normal voice sounds.
MENTAL/MOTOR/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Constant attentiveness
• Frequent exposure to odors
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office and Kitchen working environment
Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Be able to obtain industry required license (support badge) from the State of Colorado
Valid ServSafe Food Handler Certificate
You must be at least 21 years of age and a US citizen or have the ability to work in the US
Non-tobacco smoking position (smoke-free internal kitchen environment)
90-day min. probationary period
